Final edit

Image
No escape is a final edit for the script to screen unit. this specific script has been written by our teammate Ethan. Whilst editing the video I came across a few challenges such as the colour and audio, this was because both video clips were shot using different cameras in different lighting conditions. however, I was able to deal with this because of the previous workshops I've attended. When starting the course I have not previously edited before so the workshops genuinely helped me progress. This unit has also taught me how to do screenwriting, because of that I had a bigger understanding of how video production works and which areas I will need to improve on in the future. This unit was also really good as I was able to work with a great group which made me a lot better working in a team. And as for the final edit, there are a lot of things I could improve on. this such as trying not to rush whilst editing and just improving the basic skills.

Development notes

Using the feedback notes from Jane I tried changing the script whilst interpreting her suggestions. however, it was quite difficult as I was not quite sure on how to fit some of the things into the script so the only thing I changed was the conversation between Russel and his mum in page 2.  I have also gone over the script a few times to fix all of the spelling mistakes and bits that did not make sense. Feedback can be used to stimulate reflection on the process of dramatic writing and reveal your development journey in your blog (see item 6 on page 9 of your brief). A Real Friend, Dovydas Linkus This is an intense script; Matthew’s pain is really developed and pulls the audience in really well. His powerful emotion is very well portrayed and...

pilot review The Boys

Image
On page 1 The scene starts with moving images of superheroes within the show Soldier Boy, Lamplighter and Homelander who’s are one of the antagonists in the show.   The pace is quite quick and we learn a lot as it is the first scene of the series however at the part where Hughie and raven are holding hand the unexpectable happens  "Hughie steps back, holding both of Robin’s hands. They’re so in love, then --  SMASH!" this very moment everything changes for Hughie its a beginning of something is where he becomes both the protagonist and the antagonist of the plot. there was a very gruesome scene which prepares you on what's to come later in the show. "Holding two bloody hands" if this scene appears in the first few minutes of the crips it can only get worse from there right?  in the series the superheroes who are the antagonists in the series get away with everithing so they dont put a second thought in what they do, this is show in theis quote - "But this ...

RE-ENTRY short film review

Image
RE-ENTRY by BEN BRAND In this review, I will be going over Ben Brands short film re-entry which is about a man who dies in an accident which causes him to figure out everything about life and why he is a major part of it.  In the first scene of the film, all we see is the tops of the trees as is we were laying flat on the floor which gives a sense of mystery. what adds to that scene is the enhanced bird noises and the wind blowing which is a very big part throughout the whole film. at 0:37 we see a man lying on the floor which with that we also see a picture of a dead man for a glimpse second which makes me as the viewer very intrigued.   at 1:01 we see the same man from the first scene staring into a crashed car. the scene nicely set up with a medium close-up shot of the guys back as he stares int...
