pilot review The Boys


 On page 1 The scene starts with moving images of superheroes within the show Soldier Boy, Lamplighter and Homelander who’s are one of the antagonists in the show.  

The pace is quite quick and we learn a lot as it is the first scene of the series however at the part where Hughie and raven are holding hand the unexpectable happens  "Hughie steps back, holding both of Robin’s hands. They’re so in love, then -- 

SMASH!" this very moment everything changes for Hughie its a beginning of something is where he becomes both the protagonist and the antagonist of the plot.

there was a very gruesome scene which prepares you on what's to come later in the show. "Holding two bloody hands" if this scene appears in the first few minutes of the crips it can only get worse from there right? 

in the series the superheroes who are the antagonists in the series get away with everithing so they dont put a second thought in what they do, this is show in theis quote - "But this -- is a confidentiality agreement."   "I sign this, I can’t talk about it? 

Have to pretend it didn’t happen? "

Short film review "Identity" by K.J. Adames

 In this review I will be going over K.J. Adames short film "Identity" which Is about about living in a society where everyone hides their true identity using masks. in the first scene of the film we are introduced to the main character which is the girl. we see her looking back at herself in the mirror and looking happy and proud. however that goes away quickly as everything starts going back in reverse and we see her emotions fade. this was a way to intrigues the audience on what's to come later. this was very interesting because for me as a viewer as it puts me in a weird uncomfortable feeling which intrigues me on what's to come. as the reverse finishes at 1:10 we now see the same girl in her school canteen but now she is wearing a mask and so is everyone else around her. As we cut to her we can see that she is very uncomfortable and unsociable as she chooses to sit on her own. from that scene we can also see that she is very different from everyone else as she is...

Mood boards  When studying William Wordsworth's composition on Westminster Bridge, I decided to concentrate on two lines of the people, one of which is "The beauty of the morning; silent, bare." For this part, I've decided to take it literally and capture the sunrise of a beautiful morning, but I'm still undecided about the location I'd like to use for my shoot; however, the images above are what I was thinking of going for. I had the idea of the sun and the moon meeting in some way to tie the two very different ideas together. One way the two could be linked is through a flickering light, the idea of a lightbulb flickering and exploding or shutting off, and the entire mood of the adaptation changing and turning into a type of horror. The second line that I wanted to highlight was "The very houses seem asleep," since it reminded me of abandoned houses, which have a horror connotation. Final evaluation directions

 The directions unit I thought was very interesting. there has been a lot of things that I have learnt and tons of skills I have improved on. I have learnt how to storyboard, work with different lighting, I found out different things a director has to focus on that I had no clue previously. I enjoyed doing the storyboard as it was a way of getting my ideas on paper. another part I thought was really helpful was the workshops as they're not just for the directions unit, the skills I have learned for example the lighting can be incorporated into almost any other unit and it is just a big part of the film in general.    one downside of the unit was the fact that we were in lockdown so it was quite hard to focus and just get things done during the period, this also got us away from the filming part which would have been very interesting just to see the outcome and the difference between the scene you chose and the final outcome.
