HAHAHA CLASSIC ROAD RAGE.

The government is going to introduce a new mandatory law which sees people working in the hospitality business, being able to keep their tips they make from the public. The UK business secretary, Kwasi Kwarteng, announced the new rule may come into play within the next year, so mark your calendars folks!

If you happen to be a viewer out there right now cursing and shouting at your screen at those cheeky people out there, do understand the struggle right now due to the pandemic.

However, if you’re one of those sneaky buggers out there trying to take those extra pennies from the hard-working, then you could be taken to an employment tribunal, in which you could face fines or have to compensate those workers.

Some people however, just don't seem to understand the laws of tip keeping! Mr Nusret Gokce, also known as the internet sensation, Salt Bae, had the 5-0 in miami knocking at his door in 2019,

because of a lawsuit which was made by a waitress that worked at his lovely restaurant in Miami, named conveniently “Nusr-Et”, after Mr Gokce was accused of unfairly sharing tips to other workers in the restaurant, that were not reliant on tips to make money, such as coffee makers and management. Even though this may be in America, Mr Gokce does have a restaurant in London, so if you’re watching this Mr Gokce… Take note.

According to the Office for National Statistics, there was an increase of vacancies in the food and accommodation sector by 75.4% between June and August of 2021. On the other hand, this rule was actually introduced in 2018 when the dance queen herself, Theresa May created the idea, but has taken so long to come into play due to the time it takes to finalise plans and ideas.

We now chat to a former waitress/waiter of a popular UK chain that for legal reasons we can not say *cough* (insert name here), to get a real insight in how tipping works in the hospitality industry.

“We now go live to Kay Tee”

Presenter, in centre of the screen, medium close up.

Thanks, Jim, I’m here outside the Shell garage in Aylesford

Cut to a reporter outside a petrol station.

Centre of Frame

As you may have noticed over the past few weeks, it has been well ard to get petrol and that is due to a lack of HGV drivers and some crazy peeps. In contrast to popular belief, there is actually plenty of fuel at UK refineries and terminals. But the suppliers are unable to get to the petrol stations. Many people have been affected by the fuel crisis, for some weird reason, personally, I drive electric so…

To sort the issue, PM Boris Johnson announced that he has granted 5,000 temporary visas for drivers, to account for the shortage, he has also gone ahead with allowing 150 army soldiers that have spent a week training, to step in as drivers.

There has been an attractive conspiracy theory which has gone round, about the government staging a crisis, leaking to the press that there has been an HGV driver shortage when really, they’ve actually had a surplus of petrol almost out of date stocked up from the COVID lockdown from last year which needed to be used. But that's just a conspiracy...
