For my role, I had to do audio and audio editing, after all the recording was done I realised that one of the microphones from the interviews sounded very grainy in order to fix that I had to look at a few YouTube tutorials on how I could possibly fix that. the first video that I found was really helpful and it helped fix the issue with the audio to an extent, it got rid of most of the grain however it has made the voices very muffled, but the video still helped me on how to make the voice overs sound much batter and how to make presets so I would not have to repeat the process over and over again. the second video that I have watched helped me get rid of the grain completely and it made the audio sound much better, the voices sound a little muffled afterwards but it was a lot better than having all of the grainy noise in the background.

From an audio workshop with Ferg, we were going over different audio setups for different situations. out of the different setups that we could off used we Decided to use 2 clip mics as most of our documentary was interview-based. As we only used 2 clip mics were not able to pick up the audio from the interview questions, so after looking online and everything that was at my disposal I defined to use a blue snowball microphone to redo the questions at home.  



in 1997 - 1998 the music industry generated 4.3 billions dollars in comparison to 2020 where the music industry generated 21.6 billion dollars in revenue. 


In 2018 independent artists generated 643million dollars in comparison to 2015 where independent artists have generated only 256million 


In 2019 the average annual income for an independent artists is estimated around 12800 dollars where as artists singed to record labels make around 23900 dollars 


With companies such as Hmv losing over a 150 stores over the last 10 years. On the other side of things, streaming sites such as Spotify have gone from 650 thousand paying users in 2010 to 155million users in 2020 bringing its total user base to 350 million.

My part of the presentation - Story synopsis 

Our documentary will be an informative and entertaining piece where we will delve deeper into the music industry and what it takes to make it. To achieve this we will be interviewing two different artists at two different stages in their carers and getting an insight into their day to day lives as musicians. Whilst going thru their day we'll be asking a series of questions on how they came to be and what challenges they have faced throughout their carers. It will be very interesting to compare their experiences as the industry has changed a lot throughout the years, things such as the different platforms, music genres and how difficult it is to break thru in comparison to 10, 20 years ago.  With the first-hand advice from the contributors and their experiences, we hope to make a documentary that both encourages and helps anyone who is considering a path in the music industry.

Short film review "Identity" by K.J. Adames

 In this review I will be going over K.J. Adames short film "Identity" which Is about about living in a society where everyone hides their true identity using masks. in the first scene of the film we are introduced to the main character which is the girl. we see her looking back at herself in the mirror and looking happy and proud. however that goes away quickly as everything starts going back in reverse and we see her emotions fade. this was a way to intrigues the audience on what's to come later. this was very interesting because for me as a viewer as it puts me in a weird uncomfortable feeling which intrigues me on what's to come. as the reverse finishes at 1:10 we now see the same girl in her school canteen but now she is wearing a mask and so is everyone else around her. As we cut to her we can see that she is very uncomfortable and unsociable as she chooses to sit on her own. from that scene we can also see that she is very different from everyone else as she is...

Mood boards  When studying William Wordsworth's composition on Westminster Bridge, I decided to concentrate on two lines of the people, one of which is "The beauty of the morning; silent, bare." For this part, I've decided to take it literally and capture the sunrise of a beautiful morning, but I'm still undecided about the location I'd like to use for my shoot; however, the images above are what I was thinking of going for. I had the idea of the sun and the moon meeting in some way to tie the two very different ideas together. One way the two could be linked is through a flickering light, the idea of a lightbulb flickering and exploding or shutting off, and the entire mood of the adaptation changing and turning into a type of horror. The second line that I wanted to highlight was "The very houses seem asleep," since it reminded me of abandoned houses, which have a horror connotation. Final evaluation directions

 The directions unit I thought was very interesting. there has been a lot of things that I have learnt and tons of skills I have improved on. I have learnt how to storyboard, work with different lighting, I found out different things a director has to focus on that I had no clue previously. I enjoyed doing the storyboard as it was a way of getting my ideas on paper. another part I thought was really helpful was the workshops as they're not just for the directions unit, the skills I have learned for example the lighting can be incorporated into almost any other unit and it is just a big part of the film in general.    one downside of the unit was the fact that we were in lockdown so it was quite hard to focus and just get things done during the period, this also got us away from the filming part which would have been very interesting just to see the outcome and the difference between the scene you chose and the final outcome.
