Directors treatment

a guy with zero motivation and nothing but self-doubt comes across a pill that will change his life forever.

set in 2011 the film limitless is an action/thriller where Eddie who can be seen both as the protagonist and the antagonist discovers a pill that turns his life upside down. Eddie is an unmotivate character that can not get anything done in his life once he discovers the nzt pill and feels the effects of the drug he knows exactly what he wants to do and exactly how he needs to do it, but it's not as simple as that he faces many challenges after the pill and comes across very dangerous criminals that want to feel the same power fo the pill.

In the scene, Eddie feels the effects of the pill mid-conversation with Valerie who is eddies, landlords wife.  At that point the mood changes completely and Eddie becomes a different man.

The way I have envisioned the scene was with very dark moody tones when Eddie is off the pill and a very bright almost overwhelming yellow tone as soon as the effects kick in so there would be a big difference between the two and it would just be easier to differentiate the two. for the shots, I have decided to have shaky handheld camera movements as if he was being followed and making him feel on edge in a way, for the after the oil shots I have decided to do a lot of symmetrical shots as i personally believe that that pill would turn a person into a perfectionist and the symmetry would be a way of showing it. one other thing I have thought of was an orbital shot of Eddie but with his bead being tracked just as a way of revealing that Eddie now sees everything and everyone around him. I would also use quick zoom shots when Eddie focuses on the different things in the scene such as the light, bike wheel and the book in Valerie's purse, this would further show that Eddie sees every single detail.

For costumes, I have decided to make Eddie wear quite basic outfits which are torn apart which shows that he does not have money to afford new clothes or anything else. for Valerie, I have decided to also keep her quite simple but a lot more put together as opposed to Eddie. And finally fo the location I have found a place that is almost abandoned like just outside of London because in the scene Valerie says anyone could afford the rent for this place and Eddie just has none to spare.

The actual script is around 7 pages however the scene is just under 5 minutes as there is a lot of information explaining the scene and not a lot of dialogue in it.
