Analysis of an entire news programme

Looking into news programmes one that caught my eyes was Newsround because of its bright and colourful standout appearance. whilst looking into Newsround I have realised that they are also a very similar age range that we are trying to go for. News round is very much kid-oriented which means they will not talk about very hard-hitting topics and if they do they will find a way of reporting it that is acceptable for the younger generation. This is very interesting as our group wanted to stay away from hard-hitting topics as it would not be appropriate or even possible to report them in the style that we have settled on which would include jokes that would appeal to a mass audience. 

I have also decided to research other logos and branding so I would be able to get some inspiration for creating a logo as I was the graphic designer in the group. as I was going thru the internet there were a few logos that have caught my eye however they would not work well with our style. I decided the easiest thing to do would simply be just to sketch out any ideas that pop into my head and try to create them in adobe illustrate as it is very easy to use the platform when creating logos. in total, I have sketched out 5 different designs and as a group, we decided what one was the best, we were left with two different designs one being a globe with news written in a cross and the other being a minimalist NN which overlaps. 




I had a difficult time deciding which one would work best so I simply created both of them and at first, myself and the group were leaning towards the earth one, however, the fonts had to be changed and there were just too thick and not appealing. however, as I started editing the earth once I started to prefer and NN because it was so simplistic yet stylish and it would be a lot easier to create a moving graphic that looks good as opposed to the globe one, the colours green and blue were also meant to represent the wanter and the ground of the earth as we are still reporting on news that happens globally.

Short film review "Identity" by K.J. Adames

 In this review I will be going over K.J. Adames short film "Identity" which Is about about living in a society where everyone hides their true identity using masks. in the first scene of the film we are introduced to the main character which is the girl. we see her looking back at herself in the mirror and looking happy and proud. however that goes away quickly as everything starts going back in reverse and we see her emotions fade. this was a way to intrigues the audience on what's to come later. this was very interesting because for me as a viewer as it puts me in a weird uncomfortable feeling which intrigues me on what's to come. as the reverse finishes at 1:10 we now see the same girl in her school canteen but now she is wearing a mask and so is everyone else around her. Project Research

Mood boards  When studying William Wordsworth's composition on Westminster Bridge, I decided to concentrate on two lines of the people, one of which is "The beauty of the morning; silent, bare." For this part, I've decided to take it literally and capture the sunrise of a beautiful morning, but I'm still undecided about the location I'd like to use for my shoot; however, the images above are what I was thinking of going for. I had the idea of the sun and the moon meeting in some way to tie the two very different ideas together. One way the two could be linked is through a flickering light, the idea of a lightbulb flickering and exploding or shutting off, and the entire mood of the adaptation changing and turning into a type of horror. The second line that I wanted to highlight was "The very houses seem asleep," since it reminded me of abandoned houses, which have a horror connotation. Final evaluation directions

 The directions unit I thought was very interesting. there has been a lot of things that I have learnt and tons of skills I have improved on. I have learnt how to storyboard, work with different lighting, I found out different things a director has to focus on that I had no clue previously. I enjoyed doing the storyboard as it was a way of getting my ideas on paper. another part I thought was really helpful was the workshops as they're not just for the directions unit, the skills I have learned for example the lighting can be incorporated into almost any other unit and it is just a big part of the film in general.    one downside of the unit was the fact that we were in lockdown so it was quite hard to focus and just get things done during the period, this also got us away from the filming part which would have been very interesting just to see the outcome and the difference between the scene you chose and the final outcome.
