Workshop films/output

In a lighting workshop with ferg, we went over different lighting rigs and how we could use them in the combination of the natural light around us to achieve different things. in the same workshop, we also went over different setups and camera placement we could use in order to focus on the subject we are trying to shoot. the workshop outcome was not the best as the audio was just way too quiet and the subject that we shot was too close to the background meaning that everything in the frame that shouldn't have been was in focus.

in another workshop with ferg a week later we focused on audio using a clip mic. We made a test shoot however this time with the criticisms that we had from the previous shoot we learned from our mistakes and set them up differently from the way we did previously and we made sure that the audio would come out better than it did last time. To do that we placed Ethan who was the subject of the shoot more towards the corner of the room so that we could place the camera far enough to capture both me and Ethan whilst being able to get the background slightly out of focus. For lighting we placed a singular led panel on the right side at around a 45-degree angle so it would be able to light the subject fully and give nice shadows on his face, we also turned off the lights in the room as we thought the window in the background lit the subject enough sort of as a backlight. and for the audio, we put the mic on -20 dB so it would work with the tone of Ethan's voice. I believe that the outcome for this workshop was a lot better than the last as we have learned from our mistakes and focused more on the things that went wrong such as the camera placement and the audio.
