Director Research: Edgar Wright
Edgar Wright is an English director, writer and producer. He is best known for his "Cornetto Trilogy" which includes "Shaun of the Dead", "Hot fuzz", "The World's End". Edgar Wright became known from his collaborations with actor and writer Simon Pegg. Edgar has a few very distinct directing styles which can be seen throughout his work, things such as speedy editing, this makes every scene fun and kinetic, Wright employs a lot of editing techniques to make the best of the runtime and play the scene with flashy transitions. The best example of this would be Shaun's morning routine from Shaun of the dead.
Another recurring thing in Edgar's work would be the carefully chosen soundtracks and the way he syncs the action to the music, a good example of that would be Baby Driver. in an interview with IMDb where he was answering fan questions, Edgar was asked, how he chooses the music for the soundtrack in his films. His answer was that it is just songs that he listens to a lot which shows that he has a wide taste of music which allows him to have the right music for every single scene. in the same interview, he was also asked whether he has any advice for filmmakers and his simple answer was "just be yourself" he elaborates this by saying you have to make a movie for yourself rather than just following currents trends just to please others because then it just won't feel genuine.
